Florfenicol is a monofluoro derivative of synthetic thiamphenicol, which can strongly interfere with the synthesis of bacterial protein. It can be absorbed orally rapidly and is not easy to produce drug resistance. It is a new broad-spectrum antibiotic of chloramphenicol for animals.
Florfenicol has good effects on Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. At first, it was mainly used in aquaculture, and later it was widely used in livestock and poultry breeding. It was mainly used for bacterial diseases of pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens and fish caused by sensitive bacteria (Salmonella, Escherichia coli, chlamydia, Haemophilus, Streptococcus, etc.).

3. It has a good effect on calf paratyphoid, bovine respiratory diseases, bovine infectious keratoconjunctivitis and cow mastitis.
4. The treatment of bacterial fish diseases has a good effect on streptococcal disease, fish furuncle disease and shrimp red leg disease of yellow tailed fish.
It should be noted that intramuscular injection of florfenicol may cause muscle degeneration and necrosis, so we should choose to inject it alternately in the deep muscles of the neck and hip.
Finally, it should be emphasized that florfenicol has immunosuppressive effect and embryotoxicity, so it should be used with caution for livestock during pregnancy and lactation.
